Plant Trees to Sequester CarbonReforestation is a way to help restore the balance. Planting trees, especially quick-growing native trees that will not be logged or burned, removes carbon from the cycle and sequesters, or "fixes" it, within the wood itself. Just $15 will sequester 5 metric tons of carbon by planting quick-growing native trees in a Monarch butterfly reserve in Mexico.

Save Blue-Throated Macaws in BoliviaWorld Land Trust-US is working in Bolivia to save the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw from extinction. Sadly, the fragile habitat that sustains this magnificent bird is being burnt and destroyed in order to support agriculture and grazing. Threatened species including the Blue-throated Macaw cannot subsist on habitat degraded for agricultural purposes - their food sources and living spaces are destroyed. Incredibly, just $34 donation buys and saves an acre of this majestic land, forever.

Plant Trees for Cities in the UKCity trees clean the air, provide carbon sinks, and make the cityscape more beautiful. They also create needed habitat for urban wildlife -- including migrating and local songbirds -- not to mention a safe haven from people, dogs, and cars. Your $15 donation through this Gift That Gives More™ plants 15 trees in the UK, helping re-green England for city-dwellers, for urban and migrating wildlife, and for generations to come.

Save Monarch Butterfly HabitatMonarch butterflies travel thousands of miles each year to "overwinter" in the unique conditions of Mexico forests. Sadly, in recent decades these forests have been cleared at an alarming rate, compromising the butterflies' survival, degrading the soil, and drying up local springs. Your $25 gift will plant 50 trees and a $50 gift will plant 100 trees through La Cruz Habitat Protection Project.

Protect Rainforest in Colombia's Magdalena ValleyThe 700 mile-long Magdalena river basin holds a lush carpet of lowland rainforest encircled by two mighty Andean mountain ranges. Sadly, over 98% of the region's lowland rainforests have been destroyed; the remnant that remains is unprotected and largely composed of private land holdings by recent colonists eager to exploit the magnificent lowland trees for timber and then establish cattle ranches. $35 preserves one acre of threatened rainforest in the Colombia's Magdalena Valley, helping preserve the critically endangered flora and fauna that make it their home.

Protect Vital Wildlife Corridors in KenyaThe Samburu Heartland is located north of the equator and east of the Great Rift Valley. The Heartland provides critical habitat for endangered species such as elephants, the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and the gerenuk, and for rare ungulates such as black rhino and Grevy's zebra. One private ranch, Eland Downs, is ranked as one of the highest conservation priorities in the Laikipia Region because its strategic location provides a crucial link in wildlife migration patterns between larger tracts of protected land. $25 preserves a tenth of an acre from the threat of subdivision, habitat fragmentation, and conversion to agricultural use, and keeps it as a crucial link.

Protect Wild Areas of AustraliaCovering more than 240 million acres, Northern Australia is one of the planet's last great wildernesses. It often amazes people to learn that Northern Australia's natural richness is so great that it ranks alongside the Amazon rainforest and Antarctica's polar wilderness. These tropical savannas are a top priority for The Nature Conservancy's Australia Program, which is working to urgently acquire and protect an area near the Fish River, in the Kimberley region, among others. $25 preserves 5 acres (2 hectares) of tropical savanna in northern Australia. Plus, every dollar raised from the United States will be matched by The Pew Charitable Trusts on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
